The Architect: Jorn Utzon
Jorn Utzon was born in Copenhagin, April 9, 1918, and grew up in Denmark. He is most famously known for his design of the Sydney Opera House.

Jorn Utzon is a Danish architect who won a competition, in 1957, which he entered his design of the Sydney Opera House. He had entered and won several other competitions before he won the Sydney Opera House competition, but none of his previous designs were built. The win came as a suprize to Utzon because his design did not meet the competition criteria and his designs he entered were no better than the perilimenary drawings. He changed is origional designs a number of times before setteling on the finial design.
